Hi there, I’m Koosje!

I’m an artist and creative entrepreneur living in the Netherlands. I love drawing and I do it every day. On this website, I hope to inspire you to develop a drawing practice too, because it can make you feel good.

Travel Sketchbook Tour (2 of 2)

Travel Sketchbook Tour (2 of 2)

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

Today I'm showing you another sketchbook that I filled on vacation in December.

It's an Etchr Sketchbook, Size B5. After finishing the smaller size (A6) sketchbook that I showed you in last week's sketchbook tour, I was happy to fill larger pages, and kept enjoying experimenting with materials.
I made some wonderful connections with strangers through my art - even though we didn't speak each other's languages.
You'll see that I have been playing a lot with limited palettes. Sometimes just two colors is more than enough to capture the essence of a moment or a place. You don't need to be that literal.
I also noticed that when I use collage, with the paper pieces, I am already deciding on the palette for the rest of the process.

Hopefully by watching this tour, you'll get some ideas about how to fill your travel sketchbook pages when you're on a trip.

Would you like to take trip and capture the memories and liveliness of the place? I'll be teaching in the US in May: The Lively Sketchbook, in Santa Fe.
I won't be teaching in the US after this workshop any time soon, and there are just a few tickets left, so grab your chance. Find all info and registration here.
