Hi there, I’m Koosje!

I’m an artist and creative entrepreneur living in the Netherlands. I love drawing and I do it every day. On this website, I hope to inspire you to develop a drawing practice too, because it can make you feel good.

Live Online Workshop: Drawing People

Live Online Workshop: Drawing People

In May, I didn't teach in-person workshops. That gave me headspace to think about an idea that was percolating for a while. Especially after getting great responses at the May live online Mini-Workshop with the theme "drawing people", I think I need to put it out there.

I'm curious what you think about this idea:
A live online workshop that's not just a 90-minutes class. Instead, there would be a morning session and an afternoon session, or maybe it could even stretch over a weekend. In this live online workshop, with demos, instruction and assignments, we'd be diving deeper into the topic of drawing people.
I'd be offering it in July, with a limited number of tickets.

I think for many artists there’s a lot of fear around drawing people. It has to do with our minds worrying about likeness. Or maybe you don’t feel confident about the proportions. You always end up with legs that are too short, or arms that are too long… and what about all the facial features. And let’s not forget about the elephant in the room: people move. All the time!
I love drawing people, and I’ve gained confidence about my skills by practicing a lot. I’d love to help you lower the threshold and take the fear away, so you can have fun and be playful when capturing people in your drawings.

If you're interested, then make sure to join the interest list, here. As soon as I know what, when and how, you will be the first to know and to save your spot.
On the list, you'll see that it's required to fill out the country you're in; it'll be helpful for me to figure out time zone issues.

When having coffee with family, I flip open my sketchbook to practice. Even though there's not much likeness, everyone loves seeing the drawing afterwards, because I captured our moment together. And you'll be surprised how honored people feel when you draw them.
