Getting Paid To Draw
Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!
Today's video is a bit different than the usual Draw Tip Tuesday videos: I am sharing the recording of a Zoom call with my friend Mike Lowery. It’s an artist chat-and-draw!
Mike is a New-York-Times Bestselling Illustrator, and while we were drawing together, each in our own styles, he told me all about his course "Getting Paid To Draw", which is a fun and challenging, six-week masterclass on building a portfolio that attracts illustration clients.
I'm thrilled to plug his course here - Mike is a fantastic teacher and he brings in many speakers and experts from the field, to give you everything you need to know - and do - to be succesful in your illustration career. The information he gives is relevant and interesting, since I know many people in my audience are looking to see how they can take the next steps towards becoming an illustrator. And even if you already are an illustrator, this course can give you a big boost. Follow this affiliate link to sign up.
And if it’s not for you, but you're just looking for drawing inspiration and tips: you're in for a treat today!
This video shows the drawing process of two artists side by side. You'll see Mike's Illustrator's approach, and my approach drawing from observation, each making completely different drawings from the same reference photos. Also, together, Mike and I give you 8 (!) tips today.
