Hi there, I’m Koosje!

pronounced "Kōsha”

I’m an artist and creative entrepreneur living in the Netherlands. I love drawing and I do it every day. On this website, I hope to inspire you to develop a drawing practice too, because it can make you feel good.

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

Because drawing makes me happy, I make it a priority to draw every day. Life is better when you draw—it's even the title of my book!
Drawing brings so much joy to my life, and I believe it can do the same for you too!

Drawing every day will allow you to improve your skills and gain valuable experience. Not every drawing will be a masterpiece, and that's perfectly fine. Each page is a chance to learn and explore. Embrace the process!

In today's sketchbook flipthrough, you'll see a variety of urban sketches and experimental pages where I tested different tools and techniques. Some experiments worked out well, while others taught me valuable lessons. My sketchbook is a playground of ideas, where I let my creativity run free.

I'll also share my experiences with using water-soluble Caran d'Ache Neocolor II wax crayons, and how they opened up new possibilities in my artwork.

Remember, drawing is not about perfection, but about enjoying the process. Whether I reserve lots of time or have just a few minutes before bedtime, I make it a point to draw because it brings me pure happiness. I want that for you too!

This week's assignment for you is to do a drawing every day of the week. It can be a 5 minute doodle, or a longer session. Be mindful about planning art time. Maybe you'll find out what time works best for you in general, and then you can start planning to make best use of that time of day.
