Sketchbook Tour | Turning Resistance into Creativity
Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!
October and November were filled with sketchbook adventures, and my latest Hahnemühle watercolor sketchbook tells the story! From drawing movie stills to experimenting with color palettes and techniques, this book became a playground for creativity—and a challenge at times.
One of my favorite moments was sketching in a café inside a bookstore housed in a former church. The atmosphere, the buzz, and the unique architecture made it unforgettable. I also explored online drawing sessions, a solo trip to the south of the Netherlands, and plenty of everyday moments that remind me why everything is interesting when you draw it.
I didn't exactly love the sketchbook, because of the textured paper. I needed to find ways to make it work with my style and way of working. It pushed me to try new things. And that’s the beauty of sketching - there's always things to learn, explore and experiment!
I hope this video sparks some ideas for your own sketchbook practice.
