Change Your Angle and Perspective

Change Your Angle and Perspective

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

Today I am sharing an edited version of a recorded live online drawing party with my Patrons. You can join my Draw tip Tuesday Club on Patreon, so you can start attending these online drawing sessions! Find out more at my Patreon page.

Today's video is a bit of a rough edit, but the exercise is really fun, so who cares about the video quality? It's just like with drawings: even a bad drawing is better than no drawing at all!

Choose a subject and draw it three times:

-First put your subject right in front of you to draw it.

-Then put it on the floor, put it on the floor so you can draw it from a bird's eye view.

-After that, put your subject high up, (or put it on the table and sit on the floor) so you can see it from a worm's eye view. You can try changing your angle when you are drawing a scene too; stand up instead of sitting on a chair (or stand on the chair - be careful then though!), or sit on the floor to draw.

Changing your angle that way can really give you dramatic effects and adds to your story and composition. It's pretty exciting, if you ask me.

If you're interested in my book "life is better when you draw (it), join the email list if you haven't already, so I can keep you posted.
