Inspiration and Art Crushes
Have you ever had an art crush? I have them pretty often – and sometimes they last for a very long time.
I always love it when other people share their art crushes, then going into the rabbit hole of looking for those artists online and eyeballing their art and creativity… and soon enough I have another crush!
Since I know I am not the only one, I thought I’d list may current favorites, all of which I try to channel a little in my own work:
-Inma Serrano for her fearlessness, boldness and playfulness
-Marina Grechanik, for her people drawings and looseness
-Suhita Shirodkar. She works amazingly fast and there is so much life to each drawing she does.
-Felix Scheinberger. I mean, have you seen his drawings??
-Swasky, because he’s always pushing his creativity
-Uma Kelkar, who masters painting techniques
-David Lowther, for his inventive mixed media pieces
-Vanessa Brantley Newton, for her bright and colorful art, voice and smile.
For my painting practice:
-Adele Sypestyn, she is kind of like my Bob Ross for Abstract art
-Nicholas Wilton, who shares his own journey of art and so much wisdom with it.
This is a shortlist, and there are more, but these are the ones off the top of my mind.
