Travel Journaling – part 3 of 4

Traveling: surroundings

I’ve been sharing my recent travel sketches the past days, and here is part 3!
Another recurring theme for travel sketches, is your immediate surroundings. In this blog post I am sharing some drawings that confirm the hashtag I like to use when posting on social media: #everythingisinterestingwhenyoudrawit.

These pages could have been done at home just as well. Still, this will remind me of the lovely apartment we stayed in and where we felt at home:

I think this one below is kind of a mediocre drawing but I like that it represents the place we stayed in:

And because the apartment was so comfortable, we were happy to spend time there, just reading and relaxing on the comfy couch:

Hi I'm Koosje. I'm an illustrator and art teacher in Amsterdam, where I was born and raised. I went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. But eventually my love of drawing and painting took over and I became an illustrator. My illustrations have been published in many Dutch magazines and in 2011, I began blogging and started developing and teaching online art classes. In 2014 I founded Sketchbook Skool, which is a flourishing community of artists from around the world of all skill levels.
