Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!
Today I want to give you a little peek into the illustration process. There are so many decisions to make – the creative process is the decision making. You need to think about many design elements like composition, color palette, lettering and storytelling. The process is different from drawing in your sketchbook because it needs some planning ahead and it often requires a lot of time. Then again, decision making, color, and composition are all elements that you consider with each sketchbook page you fill.
That’s why I hope you can pull some inspiration from this video, in which I talk about the decisions and also the moments I got stuck during the process of making this illustration for They Draw And Travel

Hi I'm Koosje. I'm an illustrator and art teacher in Amsterdam, where I was born and raised. I went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. But eventually my love of drawing and painting took over and I became an illustrator. My illustrations have been published in many Dutch magazines and in 2011, I began blogging and started developing and teaching online art classes. In 2014 I founded Sketchbook Skool, which is a flourishing community of artists from around the world of all skill levels. View all posts by Koosje Koene
