Stay in the loop about my book

Good Vibes

I have gotten so many wonderful responses after publishing yesterday’s blogpost. It feels really good to know so many people feel inspired by me sharing my current development. It warms my heart, it encourages me and once more it gives me confidence that i am making the right choices: from the heart.

My way of sharing things is sitting on it for a long time before I even can articulate thoughts around it, let alone sentences. It’s always been like that. The introvert way. And I think the one-year mark was the right timing to finally being able to express my feelings, thoughts, and tell you about my recent creative endeavors.
My process of writing a book has been similar: just a few insiders have known about me working on it – and I have some really good friends helping me with their encouragement and feedback on my first draft of the manuscript.
I haven’t talked about it publicly because it felt too personal and vulnerable.
Now I feel ready to finalize my book proposal and send it to a publisher, and I feel confident that this book has to be published one way or another. And Oh my, have I gotten fabulous responses! There are so many potential readers out there!
If you are one of them and you’d like me to send you an update every now and then, about the progress of my book, subscribe to my email list! You’ll be the first to know if there’s any news or to get a glimpse of the process and maybe even some of the content! It’s exciting and scary at the same time, and if I get rejections, I’ll share that with you too. It’s all part of the process.

Koosje Koene

Hi I'm Koosje. I'm an illustrator and art teacher in Amsterdam, where I was born and raised. I went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. But eventually my love of drawing and painting took over and I became an illustrator. My illustrations have been published in many Dutch magazines and in 2011, I began blogging and started developing and teaching online art classes. In 2014 I founded Sketchbook Skool, which is a flourishing community of artists from around the world of all skill levels.
