Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!
How about a portrait party? Let’s use colorful tools and have some fun, with crayons!
Crayons are not often top of mind if you think about art tools, but they are a fantastic material to work with. They are quite blunt and bold, and the colors can help you thinking out of the box and bringing you into the creative flow.
You can choose to draw anything, but today let’s draw some faces. It’s not about creating perfect portraits, but it’s about filling a page with colorful images (including duds!), initially inspired by people you see, people you know, people on online meetings, or a google image search page.
You’ll not only be tapping into your imagination and creativity, but along the way you will discover fun color palettes and come up with smart creative solutions to capture someone’s character.
So. Much. Fun.
Let’s do this!

Hi I'm Koosje. I'm an illustrator and art teacher in Amsterdam, where I was born and raised. I went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. But eventually my love of drawing and painting took over and I became an illustrator. My illustrations have been published in many Dutch magazines and in 2011, I began blogging and started developing and teaching online art classes. In 2014 I founded Sketchbook Skool, which is a flourishing community of artists from around the world of all skill levels. View all posts by Koosje Koene
