Draw Tip Tuesday: How to sharpen your pencil

Posted by Koosje Koene in Draw Tip, Draw Tip Tuesday on June 11, 2019

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

Next week, the new Sketchbook Skool kourse Colored Pencils is starting! It’s a 4 week online kourse where you will learn (in 37 demos!) from colored pencil experts how versatile, fun, flexible and expressive your colored pencils actually can be! Will you join me in klass?

Let’s tackle one of the biggest frustrations of colored pencils: the lead keeps breaking when you’re trying to sharpen your pencil.
I’ll show you some sharpeners and a way of sharpening that I learned along the way to prevent the core from breaking.

Next week, I will be doing a Draw Tip Tuesday live on YouTube

It will be on the Sketchbook Skool YouTube channel:

Hi I'm Koosje. I'm an illustrator and art teacher in Amsterdam, where I was born and raised. I went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. But eventually my love of drawing and painting took over and I became an illustrator. My illustrations have been published in many Dutch magazines and in 2011, I began blogging and started developing and teaching online art classes. In 2014 I founded Sketchbook Skool, which is a flourishing community of artists from around the world of all skill levels.
