Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!
Keeping a sketchbook is a fantastic way to keep a journal. It’s an illustrated journal of your life. And you may think that everything that you draw needs to be meaningful or important, which makes you hesitate to draw the very first thing that comes up in your mind or that’s right in front of you. But you’ll be surprised how meaningful the mundane things become when you see them all gathered in your sketchbook. These are the things from your day to day life – they’re telling your story. And the best thing is, they’re drawn by you, so they’re even telling a yet more personal story!

Hi I'm Koosje. I'm an illustrator and art teacher in Amsterdam, where I was born and raised. I went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. But eventually my love of drawing and painting took over and I became an illustrator. My illustrations have been published in many Dutch magazines and in 2011, I began blogging and started developing and teaching online art classes. In 2014 I founded Sketchbook Skool, which is a flourishing community of artists from around the world of all skill levels. View all posts by Koosje Koene
