Drawing in public
Lately, I’ve been drawing a lot in cafés and bars and coffee shops. Looking at my sketchbook, it seems like I’m always out for drinks!
Well, I can be quite the couch potato, but I guess I am itching for spring to start and therefore I leave the couch more often for a change of view.
After-dinner coffee with friends:
A very relaxing hour of drawing – and a chat about art when I was finishing. I was asked to exhibit some of my art at this lovely place where they serve the best teas. (The people who work there are awesome and one of the owners is a big fan of sketchbook art and graphic novels):
A morning off. Scrambled eggs with bacon, a green smoothie and a couple of americanos. Oh and at least an hour of drawing:
Wandering on Saturday, Korean food for lunch:
Dinner at my favorite Chinese restaurant, before meeting friends:
Friday evening, easing into the weekend with friends:
Hi I'm Koosje. I'm an illustrator and art teacher in Amsterdam, where I was born and raised. I went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. But eventually my love of drawing and painting took over and I became an illustrator. My illustrations have been published in many Dutch magazines and in 2011, I began blogging and started developing and teaching online art classes. In 2014 I founded Sketchbook Skool, which is a flourishing community of artists from around the world of all skill levels. View all posts by Koosje Koene
