You may have noticed I have greeting cards on my mind. It’s because of the new Sketchbook Skool Kourse ‘Let’s Make Greeting cards’.
Sending cards can bring so much joy, just knowing how fun it will be for the receiver to find a card in their mailbox. Just the other day, I picked a card from the gift shop of a museum I visited, and send it to a friend who could use a hug, even if it was one that had a stamp on it. The happy text message she sent me when she got it was so rewarding and just knowing it brought us both a smile on her face is worth the effort.
Cards reflect the personality of both the sender and the receiver and that’s, I think, one of the reasons people collect greeting cards they receive.
Here’s a video in which I show you a couple of cards, and I’ll tell you what they mean to me.
Hi I'm Koosje. I'm an illustrator and art teacher in Amsterdam, where I was born and raised. I went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. But eventually my love of drawing and painting took over and I became an illustrator. My illustrations have been published in many Dutch magazines and in 2011, I began blogging and started developing and teaching online art classes. In 2014 I founded Sketchbook Skool, which is a flourishing community of artists from around the world of all skill levels. View all posts by Koosje Koene
